Paris Gets More Sponsors; Unveils Logo for 2024 Olympic Bid

French banking group BNP Paribas and postal service company La Poste have signed up to support the Paris bid for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The addition of the two firms takes the total number of sponsors for the bid to seven, with La Française des Jeux, La Caisse des dépôts, Elior Group, JCDecaux and RATP having already been announced as supporters.

In line with the commitment from other sponsors, BNP Paribas and La Poste are understood to be paying €2 million each to support the Paris 2024 bid committee, whose co-chairman Bernard Lapasset confirmed the new deals to the AFP on Tuesday.

In a related development, the Paris 2024 Olympic bid committee also unveiled their new Eiffel Tower-inspired logo at a ceremony in the French capital.

The design, claimed to be a modern interpretation of the iconic landmark, was projected symbolically at 20:24 CET onto the Arc de Triomphe in front of a crowd of spectators and city officials and simultaneously onto the town hall in Marseille.

“The new visual identity of the Paris 2024 campaign reflects the values and ambitions of our bid,” said Paris 2024 co-chairman Bernard Lapasset.
