Subair Named Board Chair of the Year as LIRS Clinches Top Revenue Agency Award

The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has reaffirmed its leadership in public sector performance after securing major honours at the 2025 Peak Performer Awards, held on Tuesday, 18 November, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel.

In a landmark moment for the organisation, the Executive Chairman, Mr Ayodele Subair, appeared on the cover of the 2025 edition of Peak Performer Magazine and received the highly coveted “Board Chair of the Year” Award. The recognition highlights his visionary leadership, strategic reforms, and the significant progress LIRS has made in strengthening revenue administration in Lagos State.

The award underscores Mr Subair’s long-standing commitment to performance excellence, digital transformation, and operational efficiency—factors that have firmly positioned LIRS as a national standard-bearer in revenue innovation and development.

Under his leadership, LIRS has implemented wide-ranging reforms, embraced technology-driven processes, and improved service delivery frameworks. These efforts have helped Lagos State advance its reputation as a model for modern tax administration in Nigeria.

LIRS also emerged as the “Peak Performing Revenue Agency” at the ceremony, reinforcing its dedication to transparent governance, continuous improvement, and contemporary revenue management practices that support the state’s economic growth.

Other honourees recognised for their influential contributions included Chief Chris O. Okunowo (Legal Profession), Dr Godwin Ehigiamusoe (Financial Services Sector), Austin Avuru (Oil & Gas), Dr John Obaro (Payment Services), Dr Victoria A. Samson (Oil & Gas), Dr Abiodun Adedipe (Professional Services), Prof. Chris Uwaje (Information Technology), as well as Dotun Sulaiman and Ufot Udeme (Professional Services).
