Samsung Electronics and NVIDIA have announced a landmark partnership to develop the world’s first artificial intelligence-powered semiconductor factory, a major breakthrough that fuses AI with next-generation chip manufacturing.
The new AI-driven facility will integrate Samsung’s advanced semiconductor technology with NVIDIA’s high-performance computing platforms to create a cutting-edge production system powered by more than 50,000 NVIDIA GPUs. This initiative will become a cornerstone of Samsung’s digital transformation, embedding accelerated computing directly into its manufacturing operations.
The collaboration seeks to revolutionise semiconductor production through AI, combining data from factory equipment and production workflows to enable predictive maintenance, improve efficiency, and drive autonomous factory operations.

This collaboration builds on the companies’ long-standing partnership. Over the past two decades, Samsung and NVIDIA have co-developed pioneering technologies from early DRAM for NVIDIA’s NV1 graphics card to innovations in HBM memory (HBM3E and HBM4), GDDR, and advanced chip solutions that have powered the evolution of the AI era.
Beyond chip manufacturing, Samsung is adopting NVIDIA Omniverse™ to create digital twins of its fabrication plants, enabling real-time simulations, operational planning, and predictive maintenance. This digital twin technology allows Samsung to move seamlessly from design to production, enhancing precision and automation.
Samsung is also leveraging NVIDIA’s cuLitho library to accelerate computational lithography, one of the most complex stages of chipmaking, achieving up to 20-fold performance gains in its optical proximity correction (OPC) systems.
Additionally, the company is scaling up its AI robotics and automation efforts using NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Cosmos world foundation models, and the Jetson Thor™ edge AI platform. These tools enable factory robots to better perceive, interpret, and interact with their surroundings in real time.
Samsung’s proprietary AI models, already powering more than 400 million devices globally, will also benefit from this partnership, advancing generative AI capabilities in translation, summarisation, and intelligent automation across both consumer devices and industrial systems.
Together, Samsung and NVIDIA are defining what they call the AI Industrial Revolution, a future where semiconductor design, production, and automation are driven by the very AI computing systems that those chips will bring to life.
