Honda Motor Co. is exploring the possibility of introducing a three-shift schedule, including weekend operations, at its U.S. manufacturing facilities.
According to emerging reports, the move is to boost production capacity without the need for new capital investment while helping the company offset potential tariff liabilities.
Currently operating on a two-shift system, Honda aims to maximise the efficiency of its existing infrastructure by extending factory hours and increasing output. The strategic shift is being considered as part of broader efforts to reduce the financial impact of trade tariffs and maintain competitiveness in the U.S. market.
