Following the success of Puerto Rico-exclusive launches, Bad Bunny and adidas Originals announce the worldwide release of the Gazelle “Cabo Rojo” – a standout colourway from the Gazelle City Series celebrating the vibrant landscapes and cultural heritage of Puerto Rico.
After unveiling the Gazelle “El Yunque” and “Santurce” colourways earlier this month exclusively during Bad Bunny’s “No me quiero ir de aquí” residency opening weekend in Puerto Rico, the collection now extends its heartfelt tribute to the island that shaped Bad Bunny’s identity.
Rooted in Benito’s deep love for his homeland, the Gazelle City Series brings Puerto Rico’s energy to life through three distinct colourways, each honouring significant locations on the island. These designs serve as authentic, tangible expressions of place and pride.
“El Yunque” is embodied in rich green shades that pay homage to the lush biodiversity and cultural significance of the only tropical rainforest within the US National Forest System. “Santurce” bursts with vivid orange, reflecting the vibrant heart of Puerto Rican music, dance, and contemporary art.
The “Cabo Rojo” colourway shines in bright pink, inspired by the region’s iconic salt flats and the rare natural pink waters caused by salt-loving microorganisms. Echoing the spirit of “No me quiero ir de aquí,” Gazelle Cabo Rojo is worn by a cast of Puerto Rican elders, the guardians of the island’s stories and soul.
The Gazelle Cabo Rojo will be available globally from 26 July at 10am EST, with confirmed sign-ups opening 22 July at 10am EST. Meanwhile, the El Yunque and Santurce colourways remain exclusive to Puerto Rico, maintaining the authenticity of the homage to the island’s most treasured sites.
As the official sponsor of Bad Bunny’s “No me quiero ir de aquí” residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, adidas Originals continues to honour the profound bond between the artist and his homeland.
