Chinese automaker GAC has unveiled its all-new E8 at the 16th China (Macau) International Automobile Exposition, alongside the debut of two other models, as the company strengthens its presence in Macao and expands its international market reach.
The exhibition opened on October 30 at The Venetian Macao's Cotai Expo under the theme "Where Craft Meets Technology". GAC showcased several new-energy vehicles, officially launching the GAC ALL-NEW E8 in Macao, while the AION i60 and AION N60 made their regional debuts.
GAC, the only Chinese automotive brand to have participated in the Macao Auto Expo for 16 consecutive years, said its continued presence reflects its "In Macao, For Macao" commitment. The company reported a 113 per cent year-on-year increase in sales in Macao this year.
The automaker presented a broad vehicle line-up comprising the GAC ALL-NEW E8, GAC ALL-NEW M8, AION i60, AION N60, AION UT, AION V and GAC E9 PHEV. The models cover battery-electric, plug-in hybrid and extended-range powertrain technologies, across sedan, SUV and multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) categories.
Beyond its vehicle offerings, GAC highlighted its customer service strategy, placing GAC CARE+ at the centre of its sales and after-sales operations. The initiative supports customers throughout the ownership journey, from vehicle selection and purchase to maintenance and servicing.
The company operates a showroom in Macao and provides its "Bay Area Link" maintenance service across the Greater Bay Area, supported by its unified "One GAC" network. Customers can also use the GAC Owner APP to access vehicle control features, while the company plans to establish additional service showrooms to strengthen its local presence.
GAC also highlighted its global sports marketing partnerships, including collaborations with Chelsea FC Men, Villarreal CF and Flamengo, as part of efforts to connect with customers through football.
Designed with families in Macao and the Greater Bay Area in mind, the GAC ALL-NEW E8 offers a pure-electric driving range of 281 kilometres and charge-sustaining fuel consumption of as low as 3.98 litres per 100 kilometres.
The vehicle features approximately 56 square feet of cabin space, 18 seating configurations and a 540-degree panoramic surround-view camera system. It also delivers a CLTC combined driving range of up to 1,537 kilometres.
The MAX variant is priced at HKD 339,800, while the ULTRA version costs HKD 369,800. Early buyers are eligible for a HKD 6,000 discount.
GAC's international expansion is also reflected in its regional sales performance. Retail sales across the Asia-Pacific region increased by 109 per cent year-on-year in the first three quarters of the year.
In September, the company's retail sales in Portugal rose by 34 per cent month-on-month, while sales in Brazil recorded a 280 per cent year-on-year increase.
GAC identified Macao as an important gateway to Portuguese-speaking markets and a strategic location within its broader international expansion plans.
Looking ahead, the company said it would maintain its long-term commitment to Macao by strengthening its local product and service offerings and deepening partnerships across Portuguese-speaking countries and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
