Turkish Airlines flies 7.6 million passengers in January 2026 as capacity rises 10%


Turkish Airlines carried 7.6 million passengers in January 2026, marking a strong start to the year as the flag carrier increased capacity and reported growth across both passenger and cargo operations.

The airline announced its January traffic results, revealing a 10% rise in passenger capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), compared with the same period in 2025. Total load factor for the month stood at 84%.

According to the January 2026 traffic results, the number of carried passengers was recorded at 7.6 million. International load factor reached 83.7%, while the domestic load factor was higher at 87.5%, underlining robust demand across the network.

The number of international-to-international passengers carried increased by 10.8%, rising from 2.8 million in January 2025 to 3.1 million in the same period this year.

Available seat kilometres (ASK) increased by 10% to 23.7 billion in January 2026, up from 21.5 billion in January 2025, reflecting the airline’s continued expansion of flight capacity.

Cargo and mail volumes also saw significant growth. Cargo/Mail carried during January 2026 increased by 18.8% compared with January 2025, reaching a total of 178.3 thousand tonnes.

By the end of January 2026, the number of aircraft in the fleet stood at 522, supporting the airline’s growing passenger and cargo operations.

The traffic results are consolidated and include data from both the Turkish Airlines main brand and AJet.
