English football club Blackburn Rovers has been sued by its kit supplier, Macron, after the Italian sportswear brand filed court papers against the Championship club on January 28, alleging a breach of contract.
Details of the claimed breach have not been made public, but the legal action comes as the existing five-year partnership between the two parties approaches its scheduled end this summer. Macron has supplied Blackburn Rovers’ kits since 2021, with the club widely expected to move to a new supplier ahead of the next season.
Despite the dispute, the commercial relationship between Blackburn Rovers and Macron has been regarded as a success. Retail sales linked to the partnership are understood to have almost doubled over the past three seasons, underlining the financial value of the deal for both sides.
