The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Ltd., part of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCHBC), has officially launched Plazma Biscuit in Nigeria, marking its first major move into the country’s fast-growing snack market. The launch reflects NBC’s commitment to expanding its consumer portfolio beyond beverages and tapping into everyday food occasions.
At an unveiling event in Lagos, NBC Managing Director Goran Sladić completed a symbolic first sale. “Plazma is much more than a biscuit; it represents trust, quality, and connection that transcend borders,” Sladić said, highlighting the launch as both a growth initiative and a community commitment.
Plazma, a well-known European biscuit brand, enters Nigeria through a partnership involving Bambi, Coca-Cola HBC Group, NBC, and a local manufacturing partner. NBC says the biscuit is crafted with high-quality ingredients to deliver a creamy, wholesome taste suitable for school-time snacks, tea breaks, and on-the-go moments.
The launch aligns with NBC’s strategy to complement its beverage portfolio with value-added snacks. By leveraging its distribution network across modern trade, neighbourhood stores, and on-premise channels, NBC aims to provide affordable, high-quality products that cater to families and everyday occasions.
NBC emphasises that Plazma’s production in Nigeria will involve a local manufacturer, supporting job creation, skills transfer, and supply-chain localisation. Over time, the company plans to source packaging and inputs locally, keeping prices competitive and improving accessibility.
Founded in 1951, NBC is best known for bottling Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, and Schweppes in Nigeria. Introducing Plazma extends the company’s relevance across multiple consumer moments, leveraging its nationwide distribution infrastructure for both cold and ambient products.
NBC plans a phased rollout in key cities, supported by in-store sampling, visibility campaigns, and digital marketing. Early feedback from trade partners has been positive, with both recognition among familiar consumers and curiosity from new buyers.
The introduction of Plazma Biscuit in Nigeria signals NBC’s confidence in the resilience of the country’s consumer market and offers households a European favourite as part of everyday snack choices.
