Apple Launch Event 2025: Every New iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods and iOS Update Announced

Apple has officially unveiled its latest devices at the highly anticipated iPhone 17 launch event, held this September under the theme “awe dropping.” As expected, the tech giant revealed a new iPhone line-up, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the all-new iPhone Air. 

The company also introduced the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, a refreshed Apple Watch SE, and the third-generation AirPods Pro. In addition, Apple executives offered a first look at iOS 26 and Liquid Glass, software upgrades set to roll out to compatible devices within the week.

iPhone 17

The iPhone 17 refines Apple’s core smartphone design with a host of upgrades:

• Display: 6.3-inch panel with 120Hz ProMotion and slimmer bezels.

• Durability: Ceramic Shield 2, offering three times the scratch resistance of previous models.

• Performance: A19 chip with a six-core CPU, five-core GPU, and faster neural engine, delivering improved AI performance and up to eight extra hours of battery life.

• Camera: 48MP Fusion ultra-wide and 12MP telephoto rear lenses, plus a redesigned “Centre Stage” front camera with a square sensor for landscape selfies.

iPhone Air

Apple also debuted the iPhone Air, its thinnest iPhone ever at just 5.6mm:

• Design: Titanium build with Ceramic Shield 2 protection.

• Display: 6.5-inch always-on ProMotion screen with up to 3,000 nits brightness.

• Performance: A19 Pro chip, N1 chip for Wi-Fi 7/Bluetooth 6, and a C1X modem.

• Camera: 48MP Fusion and 12MP telephoto integrated into one module; Centre Stage front camera with landscape mode.

• Battery: Adaptive Power Mode with “all-day” use; compatible with new slim MagSafe packs.

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max

The Pro line introduces a major redesign:

• Build: First anodised aluminium unibody with a larger battery.

• Cooling: New vapor chamber for thermal efficiency.

• Display: 6.3-inch (Pro) and 6.9-inch (Pro Max) with Ceramic Shield 2 rear glass.

• Cameras: Raised “plateau” design featuring 48MP telephoto (8x zoom), wide, and ultra-wide sensors, plus an 18MP Centre Stage front camera.

• Battery: Pro Max offers up to 39 hours of video playback — Apple’s longest yet.

AirPods Pro 3

After three years, Apple launched the AirPods Pro 3 with notable upgrades:

• Design: Similar look with new biometric heart-rate sensors.

• Audio: Enhanced spatial audio, 4x stronger noise cancellation, and new foam eartips.

• Features: Real-time live translation via Apple Intelligence.

• Battery Life: Up to eight hours on a single charge.

• Price & Availability: $249, shipping 19 September.

Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3 and SE (2025)

Apple’s smartwatch family also received key updates:

• Apple Watch Series 11: Slimmest, most durable Apple Watch yet; first with 5G; improved heart monitoring and hypertension detection. From $399.

• Apple Watch Ultra 3: Larger, brighter LTPO 3 display with satellite SOS support. From $799.
