Moonshot by TechCabal Returns for Landmark Third Edition to Shape Africa’s Innovation Future

...Over 4,000 founders, investors, others to gather in Lagos this October

Moonshot by TechCabal, Africa’s leading technology and innovation conference, has officially announced its highly anticipated third edition. Taking place from 15–16 October 2025 at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos, this future-defining event will bring together over 4,000 attendees and more than 120 speakers from more than 15 countries, all focused on propelling Africa’s next wave of digital innovation.

This year’s theme, “Building Momentum: Africa’s Tech Ecosystem Positions Itself for Its Next Big Leap,” reflects a pivotal moment for the continent’s technology landscape. After weathering economic headwinds and a tightening funding environment, Africa’s tech ecosystem is emerging stronger—shifting towards scalable, sustainable growth. Moonshot 2025 will convene the ecosystem’s key players to consolidate these gains and unlock new opportunities across vital technology sectors.

Headline-sponsored by Sabi, a global trade and supply chain enabler, Moonshot has evolved into a powerful continental platform for catalysing connections, mobilising capital, and spotlighting transformative ideas. Now in its third year, the conference serves as both a dynamic hub and a living archive of Africa’s innovation story—bridging past milestones with bold visions for the future.

Tomiwa Aladekomo, CEO of Big Cabal Media, commented:

“The last few years truly tested the resilience of Africa’s tech ecosystem, but they also undeniably sharpened it. The ups and downs in funding have given way to something far more intentional, with founders now building smarter and with clearer purpose. Despite the challenges, African founders have persevered and thrived. Crucially, regulations have also matured, providing much-needed direction. What we’re witnessing now is genuine momentum, firmly grounded in strong fundamentals, propelled by clarity, and intensely focused on scale. Moonshot 2025 offers a vital space to reflect on our journey and to channel this momentum into meaningful progress for founders, investors, and the entire ecosystem.”

Moonshot 2025 will feature nine flagship content tracks, with refreshed programming designed to foster deeper engagement and inspire action:

FUEL: The Investor Conference
Expanded to improve deal-making opportunities and attract Limited Partners (LPs), Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and first-time investors. Includes curated pitch sessions, structured deal rooms, and a comprehensive investor guide to Africa.

Startup Festival
Designed for early- and growth-stage founders, this festival will offer intensive workshops, operator-led sessions, and live startup showcases, including the TC Battlefield, the conference’s flagship pitch competition.

Emerging Tech (AI)
A dedicated space to explore AI applications in African sectors, with product demos and insights from leading researchers and innovators.

Government & Policy Conference
A strategic convening of African policymakers to discuss critical digital reforms and commit to enabling innovation at scale.

Other tracks include Creative Economy, Climate Tech, Future of Commerce, Big Tech & Enterprise, and Entering Tech, covering topics such as infrastructure funding, workforce development, and cross-sector collaboration.

Confirmed speakers include notable voices like Andrew Alli (Non-Executive Director, British International Investment), Maxime Bayen (Operating Partner, Catalyst Fund), and Lexi Novitske (General Partner, Norrsken22), with more to be announced.

Anu Adedoyin, CEO and co-founder of Sabi, added, “This marks our third year as a proud partner of Moonshot, and the evolution of this conference mirrors the incredible growth and ambition of African tech. We believe in building robust foundations for digital commerce, and Moonshot is crucial for fostering the connections and clarity needed for founders to build smart, scalable solutions. We’re excited to see the tangible momentum this year’s event will generate for Africa’s next big leap.”

Moonshot 2025 is proudly supported by platinum sponsors, including Flutterwave, Luno, Fincra, Raenest, Cardtonic, Roqqu, Opay, and Busha. It builds on the impact of previous editions, including the $120,000 ecosystem pledge announced during last year’s Tech Ecosystem Alliance roundtable.

Registration is now open at moonshot.techcabal.com, with early-bird tickets available until 31 July. The event welcomes founders, investors, operators, creatives, policymakers, students, and professionals shaping the future of Africa’s innovation economy.

Moonshot is powered by TechCabal, Africa’s premier tech publication, delivering data, reporting, and insights to help global investors and professionals understand where African tech is—and where it’s going.
