Turkish Airlines Secures $412 Million Financing from Bank of China to Boost Expansion and Sustainability Goals

Turkish Airlines has completed a landmark financing agreement with the Bank of China, arranged through Bank of China Turkey A.Ş., marking a significant step in its ongoing global growth strategy. The five-year facility, worth 2.9 billion Chinese Yuan (approximately USD 412 million), will be used to support the airline’s key development initiatives, including fleet expansion, business growth, and new infrastructure projects at Istanbul Airport.

The financing represents an important milestone in Turkish Airlines’ drive to diversify its funding sources while reinforcing its commitment to sustainable and inclusive global development. Coordinated by Bank of China Turkey and the BOC Macau branch as the lender, the deal also underscores the strengthening financial partnership between Türkiye and China, aligning with both nations’ long-term strategic objectives.

Commenting on the transaction, Turkish Airlines Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, Assoc.
