FIFA signs first African sponsor for 2018 World Cup

Egyptian government have filled the first of four African slots in FIFA's program for third-tier commercial deals with "Egypt - Experience & Invest" deal, just few hours to the kick-off of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The North African country is now an official regional supporter of the game which begins today Thursday, June 14, 2018.



According to FIFA, Egypt aims to "showcase the wide spectrum of tourism experiences and investment potential that this country has to offer."

This year's tournament will mark Egypt's first World Cup appearance since 1990. The country will play hosts Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay in Group A.

Egypt's World Cup campaign begins tomorrow against Uruguay.
