CMC Connect Burson-Marsteller Wins Gold SABRE Awards

…As President Buhari congratulates CMC Boss on his re-election as APRA President
Founder & Chair of the Holmes Group, Paul Holmes;  Executive Director, CMC Connect Burson Marsteller, Mr. Raheem Olabode and APRA President & Group Managing Director, CMC Connect Limited Mr. Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, receiving  the Holmes Report Continental SABRE Awards in Gaborone, Botswana recently.
CMC Connect Burson-Marsteller, a premier perception management consulting firm, won 2018 Gold SABRE Award for Public Relations campaign in the public sector/government category at the just concluded 30th African Public Relations Association’s annual conference held in Gaborone, Botswana.



The SABRE Awards is the largest continental awards competition for the public relations industry hosted by the Holmes Report in different continents to celebrate PR campaigns that demonstrate the highest level of creativity, integrity and effectiveness.

The annual award organized by the Holmes Report in collaboration with APRA recognizes Superior Achievement in Branding Reputation and Engagement (SABRE).

Commenting on the award, the Executive Director of CMC Connect Limited, Mr. Raheem Olabode, said the award reflects CMC Connect’s passion for public relations in providing solutions to clients’ businesses. “As a key player in the PR industry, our aim is to provide strategy-driven solutions to its clients’ issues and help them tell compelling stories with creative ideas and content” he said.

The Group Managing Director of CMC Connect Limited and APRA President, Mr. Yomi Badejo-Okusanya who was also re-elected as the President of African Public Relations Association (APRA), for another two-year tenure at the conference, while delivering his key note address, urged all PR practitioners to embrace data analytics, research and training to boost content quality as a key factor in all development when telling the African story.

He emphasized on the need for Public Relations and Communication practitioners to comply with the highest ethical standards of practice, accountability, transparency, probity and uphold industry reputation in telling their stories. 

President Muhammadu Buhari also congratulated Mr. Badejo-Okusanya for his re-election as APRA President. In a statement signed by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, Buhari commended other Nigeria PR firms, Red Media and PR Nigeria, which also won awards at the event.

“On Badejo-Okusanya’s re-election, President Buhari believes that the PR guru’s positive, inspiring and remarkable works in public relations over the years, have indeed made him to stand out as a national, continental and global icon.

“The President noted that the endorsement of the MD/CEO, CMC Connect by his peers in Botswana is an expression of confidence that under his watch, public relations practice in Africa has come of age, despite all odds, and is adding value in developing the continent.
