Tech Startups Can Now Apply For UNICEF Innovation Fund

Application is now open for the UNICEF Innovation Fund. The Fund is looking to make $50,000 - $90,000 equity-free investments to provide early stage (seed) finance to for-profit technology start-ups that have the potential to benefit humanity.

UNICEF’s Innovation (Venture) Fund is a newly established, non-thematic, pooled fund which has been specifically designed to finance early stage, open-source technology that can benefit children. The core motivation of the Innovation Fund is to identify “clusters” or portfolios of initiatives around emerging technology – so that UNICEF can both shape markets and also learn about and guide these technologies to benefit children.

The Innovation Fund allows UNICEF to quickly assess, fund and grow open-source solutions that can improve children’s lives. Financial and technological support is available for companies that are using technology in innovative ways to improve the world.

The Fund has made 51  investments in 28 countries with an eye to invest in 30 more start-ups in 2018.

Application closes on February 28, 2018 at 23:59  (GMT)
