Twitter Employee Shuts Down Trump's Account on Last Day of Work

So a Twitter employee on Thursday did what Twitter has refused to do for months which is to deactivate the Twitter account of US President Donald Trump-@realdonaldtrump. The action was clearly deliberate. And it took the microblog 11 minutes to restore the account.

This led to speculation that Twitter has finally suspended @realdonaldtrump. On Twitter’s part, they initially said the account had been inadvertently deactivated due to human error by a Twitter employee.

In a statement, Twitter tweeted: “The account was inadvertently deactivated due to human error by a Twitter employee. The account was down for 11 minutes, and has since been restored. We are continuing to investigate and are taking steps to prevent this from happening again.”

Trump, who has more than 40 million followers on Twitter, is known for his love of the medium.
