The Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria, EXMAN, has rewarded various works of excellence within its industry through its maiden awards which held recently at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The awards which had 12 categories saw big winners emerge like EXP, GDM, Ideas House and TownCriers while Keskese Limited were the overall winners with a Grand Prix for their job on ‘MTN Noiseless Music’.

Of the 12 categories, there were no nominations for three categories by the Idorenyen Enang-led panel of judges while the EXMAN Life Time Achievement Award was given to Chris Parkes for his contribution to the industry.

In the same vein, the Managing Director of Ideas House, Mr. Kehinde Salami who emerged the new president of the association, was sworn into office at the awards ceremony.

Other elected members that constitute the new excos for the association include Tolulope Medebem; Vice-President, Angela Ukara-Makinwa; General Secretary, Owolabi Mustapha; Financial Secretary and Gil Kemami; Publicity secretary.

Mr. Kayode Olagesin and Dr. Rotimi Olaniyan, both EXMAN past presidents, were unanimously elected new trustees replacing Chris Parkes and Ehi Braimah for a three year term while the new excos are elected for a one year renewable term.

In his inaugural speech as the President of the association, Kehinde Salami expressed his pleasure at his election and praised the effort of his predecessors at taking EXMAN to the heights attained in the last four years, noting that, “The baby which was born and nurtured by my predecessors, Mr. Kayode Olagesin, our first president and more recently, Dr. Rotimi Olaniyan, is now happily crawling with notable features” he said.

“Our industry is a unique one, playing an increasingly leading role in growing Nigerian brands through meaningful experience. Because marketing is beyond exposure to engagements, the constant demand for our industry expertise is growing exponentially and our responsibility lies in our ability to properly organize ourselves, play vital roles and deliver inspiring works.

Kehinde further expressed his readiness to work closely with the association’s excos in institutionalizing desired changes in EXMAN.

“My tenure will usher in a new and renewed vigour for professionalism, integrity, training, capacity building and the pursuit of a single basic interest tariff and to partner with government at all levels.

“The Excos and I will deliberate extensively on a wide range of programmes we will action embedded within a larger blueprint.”
