Samsung To Launch Galaxy Note 8 on August 23 Unpacked Event

Samsung is set to launch the next smartphone in its Galaxy Note series of phablets, the Galaxy Note 8. The company has officially sent out invitations for an Unpacked event on August 23.

The South Korean company doesn't say much on its launch teaser therefore very little is known about the appearance of the new device. The invitation however confirms its between the “Do bigger things” slogan and the image of an S Pen.

In the invite image, shared by Samsung Mobile through a tweet on Thursday, the company displayed the outline of a smartphone with an Infinity Display, just like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+. Notably, the signature S Pen can also be seen right alongside the outline in the invite image, all but confirming the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Samsung said, "Find out what it means to do bigger things on 08.23.2017," in its tweet.

The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to borrow many of the design cues from the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, including the edge-to-edge curved Infinity Display, although with potentially a larger screen than even the S8 Plus. The upcoming device is also expected to feature a dual-camera system, comprised of two 12-megapixel sensors. The Note 8 will also serve as a long-awaited upgrade for Galaxy Note fans, given that last year’s Note 7 was famously recalled due to battery issues.

The Galaxy launch event next month will take place in New York City.
