Owerri, Lagos Host Grand Finale of Guinness Match Day #MadeofBlack Experience

Sunday May 14th was the grand finale of the Guinness “Match Day Made of Black” experience for the Premier League Season 2016/17 with the screening of the Manchester United Vs Tottenham Hotspurs match.
Illbliss, Kunle Faloye, Senior Brand Manager, Guinness, Zoro and Demilade Oresanya, Assistant Brand Manager Guinness ​at the grand finale of the Guinness Made of Football event on Sunday. 

The event which held in Lagos and Owerri simultaneously provided EPL fans an opportunity to experience  an incredible evening complete with live commentary from foremost football analysts and presenters, such as Abiola Kazeem, Murphy Ijemba, Deji Omotoyingbo, Emma Dele, Damilola Elebe and Solomon Onu.

The evening was rounded off by live music performances from consumer favourites, Illbliss and Zoro in Owerri, while Mr Eazi and Small Doctor held Lagos to a standstill. These artistes were selected because they exemplify the tenets of Made Of Black through sheer determination, passion and hard work in their music;

The grand finale experience is the last stop for the Guinness Matchday activations for the EPL season 2016/17. The series of event kicked off in Lagos on 19th March and has since made stops in Owerri, Enugu, Benin, and Ibadan. The Guinness Matchday activities are designed to celebrate Nigeria’s passion for football and music and to unite communities through incredible football experiences – in a way that only Guinness can do.

The events which took place at Ehi Gardens, Lagos and Grand Cubanna, Owerri provided EPL fans the opportunity to showcase their passion for football. . Fans were rewarded with free Guinness Foreign Extra Stout for every Guinness Foreign Extra Stout bought at the venue. In addition, fans also had the chance to win airtime and other exciting prizes.

Guinness has sustained a historic association to Football in Nigeria through its sponsorship of the EPL broadcast in Nigeria on SuperSports as well as its sponsorship of the Nigerian National Team- Super Eagles and annual consumer promotions such as Every Minute Made of Black that reward fans who buy and enjoy Guinness while watching the game.
