HBO Releases First Game Of Thrones Season 7 Trailer, Teaser Poster

HBO has released a teaser trailer and confirmed the date for the Game Of Thrones Season 7 via Twitter.

The trailer is referred to as the 'sigil teaser' as it shows off representations of the major house sigils carved in rock, fighting amongst themselves.

Game of Thrones season 7 will air its first episode in the US and the UK on July 16 and 17, 2017 respectively; although it's unclear what time that'll be.

The release date means fans are going to have to wait a little longer than usual to see this season. The wait however, won’t be anywhere near as interminable as the way HBO actually let fans learn about it, however, we think the wait will be worth it. At least now we know when Game of Thrones is back.

Season seven will unfortunately only be seven episodes long and not the usual ten, and with series creator David Benioff said in an interview last year that he thinks the series has just 15 episodes left in it before wrapping up, it’s a fair bet that the last season will be around eight episodes long which we presume will be some truly epic episodes to come we can’t wait to get started.

The poster of the new season was also released at the South By South West film conference in Austin, Texas. It gets very literal, teasing the battle of ice vs fire with an image of, well, ice and fire.
