Event submission for Social Media Week Lagos 2017 is ending today

Still planning to host an event at next year’s Social Media Week Lagos? Well, submit for event application ends today, Friday, December 2nd, according to an email by the organizers.

2017 SMWLagos is themed “The [new] Language of Technology: The Future of Communication in Africa.” According to the organizers, the event will explore how technology is creating a “new language” and way of communicating and what this means for the future of communication in Africa. Use our local theme as a guide for your event submissions.



Here are the pro tips for event submission:

•     Take the time to prepare your proposal.
•     Draw inspiration from this ‘5 Year Plan,’ which their road map for the #Next5Years.
•     Ensure your idea is inline with the 2017 theme.
•     Confirm all the details of your event.
•     Fill out the submission form in it’s entirety. Incomplete forms will not be considered
