Always Releases #MyFutureStartsToday Video in Support of Girl Dreams

In a bid to show its continued support of girls, Always, the leader in global feminine care, released a new video, today, August 29,2016  to bring to life its #MyFutureStartsToday initiative. The video aligns with the brand’s purpose to advocate for, and empower girls and women to live their life to their fullest potential.

Many girls have dreams beyond their desires for education, but these dreams are hindered by issues that keep them from extending their possibilities. The #MyFutureStartsToday video is a way to start a conversation on social media and beyond. It seeks to create engagements that will interrogate statements like: “That is not a job for a girl, you’re a girl, why don’t you just think like a girl!” which results in 2 out of 5 girls thinking there are some jobs for girls and some for boys; making girls to limit their dreams and develop a mind-set that is molded by the society’s opinions of what they can achieve.

To advocate for and empower women to live their life to their fullest potential, Always is offering over 100, 000 Nigerian school girls mentorship and scholarship opportunities to connect with their big dreams and aspirations as well as successful role models, to ensure they are motivated to believe in themselves and their aspirations. Always has a mission to assure millions of Nigerian girls that they can achieve their full potential and become whatever they desire. Click here to watch the new video.
“It is of great importance to me to be a part of this initiative, there are still very few female pilots, and if one of the things hindering girls is because they feel it is unattainable, I want them to know women like me exist. I want to know that it is possible for a girl to aspire to be anything she wants with a good education. I’m excited to work with Always on building the confidence of girls in Nigeria, by helping them to attain confidence through puberty and even afterwards,” says Mercy Odusola, Pilot, and mentor on Always #MyFutureStartsToday Initiative.

The Always #MyFutureStartsToday initiative is one of the ways the brand is leading conversation on how to improve the potentials of girls and inspire them to dream big and live their life to the fullest. It intends to ensure that girls can believe in themselves, and also inspire a movement where girls are encouraged to achieve whatever aspirations they set out to become. Always is encouraging girls to be confident enough to pursue their dreams.

“There is a belief that girls are now at an advantage, with increasing sensitization about education and all. We want girls to believe that their dreams are limited,” says Ajewole Ayotomiwa, Always Brand communications manager. “It is very important that we bring girls to understand that there is no profession beneath them, and this is why we are empowering them to achieve their fullest potentials through mentorship and scholarship.”

Always is inviting girls and women in Nigeria to join the conversation, tweet about it using the hashtag #MyFutureStartsToday or encourage school girls between the ages of 11 – 16 to write an essay on “My Future Starts Today: My Dream Career” which is to understand what is stopping them from achieving your dream?” Find out more at: www.facebook.com/alwaysnigeria
