Mark Zuckerberg Becomes World's 6th Richest Person

If you still doubt that social media is a big business, then you must be from Jupiter. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg yesterday became the sixth- richest person on Earth. The 31- year-old saw his net worth increased $4.85 billion to $46.25 billion, as the social network announced that it made over $1 billion in quarterly profit for the first time, and increased its revenues by 52%.

That puts Zuckerberg more than $2.5 billion dollars ahead of Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison, who has a net worth of $43.6 billion.

Zuckerberg made his first appearance on the Forbes 400 list in 2009. His net worth at the time was $2 bn. The net worth of Mark increased considerably after Facebook’s IPO (Initial Public Offering) back in 2012. With a net worth of $46.25 bn now, Zuckerberg is the 4th richest person in the US and 6th in the world.

According to market experts, the FB stock value is expected to continue rising in the first quarter of 2016. As of now, FB stock is at $94.45.
