China blows final whistle on football coach's tenure

Following a disappointing two-year tenure, the Chinese Football Association on Friday decided to relief Alain Perrin of his position as China national team coach.

A statement from the CFA read, “Recently, after taking into consideration the performance of the team in the World Cup qualifiers and the need for a period of time to rebuild the team for the future, both parties came to an agreement that Mr Perrin step down.”

The statement concluded by thanking Perrin for his efforts as coach and saying the FA would announce the identity of a new coach in due course.

Just hours after Friday's sacking of previous coach Alain Perrin, a post appeared on the CFA wesite advertising the newly vacant position with instructions (in Mandarin) on how to apply.
