Wema Bank Holds 2nd Annual Trade and Finance Forum Today

Wema Bank Plc, Nigeria’s oldest indigenous lender, will host stakeholders involved in the Nigerian banking and international trade sector to its Annual Trade and Structured Finance Customer Forum tagged ‘Forex Management & Trade Flows: The Nigerian Initiatives’. The 2nd annual event of the bank will take place today Monday, November 23, 2015 at Lagos Oriental Hotel.

The Forum is an initiative focused towards enriching the knowledge of key stakeholders in Foreign Exchange Management and trade related issues using the Nigerian paradigm for the benefit of our customers. It will also provide participants with an opportunity to interact with the bank’s Executive Management and key regulators in the financial industry in the area of foreign exchange trade. This is designed to promote business opportunities vis-a-vis the market frontiers: Foreign Trade finance and Investment, using the Nigerian approach.

Speaking on the bank’s determination to educate and encourage customers on international trade and structured finance, Segun Oloketuyi, MD/CEO Wema Bank stated that the bank has evolved into one of the leaders in foreign trade through a sustainable relationship with correspondent banks, customs services, Central Bank of Nigeria and other trade related sector of the economy to further engender a stronger and more dynamic business model. “We are thus, confident in our resolve to translate challenges into opportunities whilst maximizing value for all stakeholders” He said.

As a way of improving the value-added transactional and non-transactional services in the most simple and effective manner to its discerning customers, the forum will be an interactive platform to focus on knowledge sharing amongst stake holders within the industries.
