Dell Unveils Powerful New Solutions; Designed to Optimise Virtual Infrastructure

Dell unveiled a broad range of innovative solutions across its enterprise portfolio that optimise and simplify management and productivity within customers’ VMware virtualization environments. The new offerings showcase Dell and VMware’s long-standing and strong partnership to build unique, industry-leading product and service solutions, which help customers achieve more from their IT investments.

Industry forces such as cloud computing, big data, the internet of things, mobility,  and software-defined IT are leading companies to think differently about traditional IT – services based on transactional system-of-records – and compelling businesses to reexamine their approach to creating, storing, moving and analysing information.

Many are moving toward an approach that more closely mirrors new IT – business models and processes that are subscriber or relationship-oriented and require support for high-volume and high-velocity data processing.

“The collaboration between Dell and VMware continues to deliver innovative, industry-leading products and service solutions designed to help customers increase productivity and run their business more effectively,” said Samuel Greenblatt, Vice President of Engineered Solutions and Technology, Enterprise Solutions Group, at Dell. “With the introduction of the Dell Engineered Solution for VMware EVO: RAIL and other new solutions announced today, we are making it easier for customers to deploy and manage their IT environments including virtual infrastructure, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), and private clouds.”

Taking a customer-first approach, Dell supports businesses wherever they are on their journey, from traditional IT to new IT, by adding to its portfolio of hyper-converged and software-defined offerings with new solutions for VMware environments:

Dell Engineered Solutions for VMware EVO: RAIL™ bridge the capital and operational cost savings of new IT solutions while maintaining compatibility with traditional IT workloads. The appliances help customers streamline the deployment and scale-out of their virtual infrastructure and workloads.

A Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) reference architecture and new Dell Storage and VMware integrations help customers simplify traditional IT solutions including management and access of data and applications for traditional VMware environments.

Dell has also updated its portfolio of end-to-end desktop virtualization solutions for VMware. To address customer concerns around the costs, storage, security and graphics capabilities of desktop virtualization, Dell Wyse Datacenter for VMware Horizon 6  now delivers VMware’s Virtual SAN, increased user densities and provides 3D graphic capabilities within a secure, scalable and certified environment.

Additionally, the new Dell Wyse Datacenter for VMware Horizon DaaS offers  enterprises of all types and sizes the capability to deploy Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) within their environment in a the public cloud, private cloud or a hybrid of these, with 3D graphics and all with the option of having Dell Managed VDI Services manage and monitor the end-to-end environment.
