Real Madrid maintian top position, Bayern dislodges United in Money League

Spanish Liga club Real Madrid has maintained its top position while English Premier League club Manchester United has dropped out of the top three in the rankings for the first time in Deloitte’s annual Football Money League.

Real’s turnover increased by 1.2 per cent to €519m ($704m) for the 2012-13 campaign despite lack of a major trophy win. Its major La Liga rival Barcelona revenue remained flat at €483m.

German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich which bagged several trophies in 2013 (€431.2m), dislodged Manchester United that slipped to fourth despite increasing turnover by 13 per cent to €424m.

Qatari-owned Paris St Germain (PSG), where former England captain David Beckham ended his career last year, underlined its emergence as a soccer power with an 81 percent rise in revenue to almost 400 million euros to claim fifth spot.
