IBM opens client centre in Johannesburg

In bid to further extend its tentacles in Africa, IBM’s South African subsidiary has opened a multimillion-dollar client centre in Johannesburg - becoming the second of such facility to be launched by IBM on the continent.

According to IBM, the centre will provide access to cloud computing resources, analytics and big data services, with access available to IBM clients and partners, as well as developers, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and academics.

Users of the facility will be able to participate in virtual and in-person training, test out new products, network with peers from around the world, and receive mentoring and guidance from IT and business experts, the company notes.
