Procter & Gamble Nigeria Extends global Equity, Partner of the Nigerian Olympic Committee for the London 2012 Olympic Games

Procter & Gamble (P&G) Nigeria, the company behind household names such as Pampers, Always, Ariel and Safeguard, has announced its partnership with the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC).


P&G's collaboration with the NOC is part of its worldwide partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the next ten years. Under the partnership, P&G Nigeria will support the Nigerian Olympic Committee for the London 2012 Olympic Games but will also be contributing to the development of Nigeria's next generation of champions by supporting youth sports development.

Manoj Kumar, P&G's Managing Director for West Africa said: "Procter & Gamble is proud to support the Nigerian Olympic Committee. This collaboration is about bringing together our purpose of touching and improving lives and the Olympic Games purpose of building a better world through sports. It is also about supporting athletes and serving moms and families as a company through our brands."

P&G also committed to unveil a major program in support of youth development through sports in collaboration with the NOC.

"As a supporter of mothers of Olympians, P&G is helping athletes to compete and win on the world stage," said NOC Secretary General Tunde Popoola. "Moreover, by supporting youth sports development, the company is supporting families and helping to develop future athletes."

"Sponsorship and partnerships are the very lifeblood of sport," continued Mr Popoola. "Whether it is for our elite athletes or at grassroots development level, all help is gratefully appreciated by the sports fraternity."
